Where to Eat in Skopelos After the Mamma Mia Tour
Most visitors come to Skopelos for the Mamma Mia chapel at Agios Ioannis, the beaches at Kastani and Milia — and then arrive back in town wondering where to eat. This is what we tell friends.
Coming back from Agios Ioannis chapel
The drive back from the chapel lands you in Skopelos Town around dusk — the perfect time for the harbour. Sit at a waterfront taverna for a first ouzo and a plate of grilled octopus, then move to dinner. Do not try to eat at the chapel side of the island; options are thin and you'll miss the town at its best hour.
If you want a proper dinner
For a considered evening, Minnŏ Restaurant inside Minnǒ Boutique Hotel & Spa serves contemporary Greek cuisine on a quiet terrace above the port. Signatures include fish stifado, lobster with baby gem, and a Skopelitiki cheese pie done our way. Reservations recommended in summer — book a day ahead.
If you want a Mamma Mia atmosphere
For a harbour-taverna feel — long tables, cold wine, boats a few metres away — pick any waterfront kitchen with locals eating. Go around 21:00, order a fresh fish from the display, share a Greek salad and grilled vegetables, finish with tsipouro.
One more evening
If you have a second night, spend it in one of the backstreet ouzeria a lane back from the harbour — small rooms, four tables, whatever the cook made that day. It's how the island really eats.
